A gunite shell starts with layout and excavation, followed by a grid of rebar tied to engineered spacing. The gunite mix - a dry blend of cement and sand hydrated at the nozzle - is sprayed at high velocity so it packs into every corner of the steel cage. That's the phase that dictates long-term structural performance: proper coverage over the rebar, correct thickness at the floor and cove, and a clean transition to the bond beam. From there the shell cures for a period before we tie in plumbing pass-throughs, install waterline tile and coping, form the deck, and apply the interior finish. Because everything is site-built, gunite gives you options that pre-formed pools simply can't: raised bond beams, sun shelves, beach entries, custom step layouts, integrated spas, negative-edge details, and geometric or freeform profiles limited only by the drawing.
