From there we apply a bond coat, install the chosen finish, and cure it under water while the pool refills. Modern quartz-aggregate and pebble finishes carry longer-lasting warranties than standard white plaster, hide chemistry variation better, and give the pool a distinct color feel that plaster alone can't hit. Waterline tile is often replaced at the same visit since it's already exposed by the drain.
